Yokohama Rubber Posts Record Sales and Earnings in 2012

MultiLing’s key account client Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., recently announced record figures for net sales, for operating income, and for net income in fiscal 2012 (January to December 2012). The historic sales and earnings performance reflected strong growth in sales of tires to automakers in Japan, a business recovery in industrial products, success in securing market acceptance for price increases, a decline in raw material costs, continuing progress in reducing costs, and the weakening of the yen toward the end of the year.

Two thousand twelve was Yokohama’s first 12-month fiscal period since the company shifted to calendar-year accounting in 2011, from April-to-March accounting, so formal year-on-year comparisons are impossible.… [Continue reading]

MultiLing strengthens Worldwide and European Sales Teams

We are excited to announce that today Todd Rapier has been promoted to executive vice president of worldwide sales. Also, we hired a new European sales manager, Peter Fischer, to expand the company’s reach on the continent. At the London Patent Summit today, both Rapier and Fischer shared MultiLing’s centralized translation model for enterprise patent translations, which now account for approximately two-thirds of the company’s revenues.

MultiLing client Yokohama receives local business award

Yokohama Tire Corp. has just received the Fullerton Chamber of Commerce’s annual Presidents’ Business Achievement Award in the large-company category. This award recognizes innovation, entrepreneurship and outstanding business citizenship.

The Fullerton Chamber of Commerce acknowledges Yokohama’s numerous civic efforts, most notably the Forever Forest initiative, in which the company planted 500 trees at its Fullerton headquarters. This initiative is part of a larger companywide program spearheaded by Yokohama Rubber Co., the local firm’s parent, which aims to plant more than 500,000 trees worldwide by 2017.

German National Space Research Center Relies On MultiLing

DLR’s extensive research and development work in aeronautics, space, transportation and energy is integrated into national and international cooperative ventures. As Germany’s Space Agency, the German federal government has given DLR responsibility for the forward planning and implementation of the German space programme as well as international representation of Germany’s interests.
