Germany’s Innovation Price Dieselmedaille has announced 2012 Winners

On November 30, the hosts of the oldest German innovation prize, the Dieselmedaille, announced this year’s winners. The award, which is presented by the German Institute for Inventions and was co-founded in 1953 by Eugen Diesel, the son of the engine builder Rudolf Diesel, honors inventions and innovative companies that have successfully found their way into regional and international markets. Since 1953, the Dieselmedaille has been awarded to more than 400 inventors, including Wernher von Braun Gottlob Bauknecht, Hans Viessmann, Arthur Fischer, Anton Kathrein, Sybill Storz, Fritz Sennheiser, and the Nobel prize winners Herrmann Staudinger, Ernst Ruska and Manfred Eigen. Nurturing the Next Generation of Business Leaders

On Friday, November 9, two members of our Chinese team served as judges at Brigham Young University’s (BYU) Business Language Case Competition. Jason Yang and Will Liu mentored students as they offered valuable feedback on their presentations.

The BYU Business Language Case Competition provides business students with the opportunity to showcase their theoretical business knowledge and foreign language skills, while sharpening their presentation skills with real-life global business situations. Lost in Translation: How a Shanghai Delegation Found its Way

Last week around 20 representatives from companies and governmental organizations in Shanghai, China visited the Bavarian capital city. For the second time, MultiLing is an official Sponsor of DIESELMEDAILLE, Germany’s longest running inventor award. International “Interpreting the Future” Conference in Berlin, Germany

From 28 to 30 September 2012, the German Interpreters and Translators Association BDÜ will be hosting its 2nd international conference entitled “Interpreting the Future”. Around 150 practically relevant presentations, seminars and workshops, a job exchange and a trade exhibition await the participants. The opening speech will be delivered by Prof. Dr. Annette Schavan, Federal Minister of Education and Research. The patrons of the international conference are Androulla Vassiliou, European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Multilingualism, Sport, Media and Youth, and Wolfgang Steimels, President of Germany’s Federal Language Service (Bundessprachenamt).
